Prosecutors From The City Of Florence Open Investigation For Irregularities In The Permitting Of Building Black Cube, As Locals Deem It Unacceptablea

Prosecutors in Florence are currenty questioning 12 individuals as part of an investigation into potential irregularities in the permits, planning, and zoning decisions that allowed the Black Cube to be built on the former site of the Teatro Comunale.

In a letter to the Mayor, sixteen noble families led by Princess Claude of Orléans urged a halt to more Modernist projects, warning against further harm to Florence’s heritage. Some trace their roots and estates back to the Medici era. The aristocracy has now prompted an inquiry into the architects and councillors linked to the project.
