Founded in 2025, Architectural Place first appeared as a digital platform highlighting the resurgence of traditional design. Based in Lisbon and Monte Carlo, we saw a world dominated by publications celebrating opulent contemporary interiors and quickly established Architectural Place as the first publication championing the enduring principles of classical architecture. Its mission is to promote classical aesthetics, spotlight architects building in traditional styles, and showcase exemplary projects that prove timeless beauty thrives today.
The monoculture dominating urban landscapes opened the doors to a digital magazine that positions classical architecture as relevant for sustainable and humane cities. Our portraits, monthly covers and stories emphasize studios, craft guilds, stone carving, and proportional mastery over celebrity glamour. From emerging talents to well established firms and ateliers, Architecture Place defines itself as the Home of Classical Architecture, as well as one of the leading platforms countering the modernist bias in mainstream awards.
By 2025, many classical architecture think tanks, digital pages, forums, and initiatives had flourished, many of them paramount to the creation of Architectural Place. Most platforms, however, remained inwardly focused, cultivating expertise within classical circles. The need for a global platform with the goal of aggregating scholarship, projects, and advocacy, while bridging to mainstream audiences filled this void, curating the best of classical thought in an accessible format that resonates with professionals, policymakers, and patrons worldwide.
In under a year, Architectural Place reached a significant online monthly readership, featuring alongside successful architectural magazines; the first openly in favour of classical architecture.
